Thank you for daring to be so open! I confess to getting teary eyed. Somehow I sense this is not the end - you and your mom will conclude this trip in the future. Before writing my comment I was thinking this story would make a good film - although I don’t know if we know the ending yet. Then I saw Marley’s comment, and I totally agree

Tatiana! I love photo essays and this was so good!!! I thought it was just spectacular! You’re a great storyteller and sorry that your mom got sick and couldn’t finish the trip together but I know you will finish what you’ve started.

What a fantastic and beautiful photo essay. Your mother is a force of nature. You honor her so much -- as a caregiver myself, I can't imagine a more beautiful gift than this acknowledgement.

A Force of Nature. You're 100% right. Caregivers are some of the most courageous people out there—including yourself. Thank you so much

Ok hear me out: this would be such a good short little film where you narrate the text and show each picture and incorporate little bits of sound for each (audio of your abuela or mom talking, the noises of spain around you, etc) and videos if you have them. Maybe it's because your pictures and storytelling are so vivid but I can HEAR this piece & see all the movement. that's all thank u

Omg, Marleyyyy. Thank you, my friend. I was actually toying with the idea of turning this story into a lil film, but wanted to experiment with overlaid captioning. But I 100% see this, agree with this, and who knows what's coming O_O

Such a beautiful tribute to your mother and all she's done for you and your abuela. I was raised by strong and resilient women as well.

Un abrazo.

So beautiful Tatiana! I often think of my mom and her ordeals as Mouther Courage and obviously yours is also. I do hope that your mom gets an opportunity to take another break and that you two get a chance to finish what you started. You ladies have such a beautiful relationship!
